2018 Resolve Stephan

At the U.S. Institute of Peace on September 20, the Third Annual RESOLVE Network Global Forum explored new research approaches for countering and preventing violent extremism for policy and practice. Thought-provoking TED Talk-style presentations pushed the boundaries of understanding and countering violent extremism and introduced new angles and tools to address the challenge. 

 

 

Maria J. Stephan directs the Nonviolent Action Program at the U.S. Institute of Peace. At the RESOLVE Network Global Forum 2018, she explored the power of civil resistance, the draw of belonging, and the historical success of nonviolent struggle.
