RESOLVE Network 2019 Global Forum: Western Balkans Research Roundtable

Summary

On September 16, 2019, the RESOLVE Network and the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) hosted an invite-only expert roundtable on the topic of dynamics of violent extremism and community resilience in the Western Balkans. Convening policy experts, researchers, and practitioners, the roundtable presented recent research findings from projects implemented over the past year in the Western Balkans and identified policy and practice implications of the research.

This roundtable was supported by the RESOLVE Network Western Balkans Initiative. Through a partnership with the Bureau for Conflict and Stabilization Operations of the U.S. Department of State and collaboration with regional organizations, the Initiative provides stakeholders with insights from locally sourced analysis on the dynamics of violent extremism. The initiative aims to increase collaboration and elevate regional understandings of violent extremist threats and vulnerabilities, building upon existing networks and initiatives active in the region.

The event was under the Chatham House Rule.
